2008 Senior Triathlon

Tried it before?  Or new to the game?  Come for the experience and see if you will be a Dirt & Dust Triathlon Survivor in 2008! 

800m swim, 25km cycle, 5km run (Course map, click here)

The swim leg takes place in Eastern Creek (approx. 22km West of Julia Creek) which has fresh water following the wet season.  Upgrade works on the Flinders Highway between the Creek and town have been completed and will help for a smoother ride.  And the build-up for the event has already begun with the locals once again expected to line the streets supporting the final run.

Interest has been received from far and wide for entering the triathlon, so expect a bumper field.

Get your work colleagues together in a Corporate Team, have a bit of fun and see if you can topple the teams representing our wonderful sponsors!

Not a professional? No worries.
The majority of our participants are everyday people having a go at one of the most testing sports around.  It doesn't matter what age or skill level you are, there is a category suitable for you.  And there is prize money available in almost all categories.

Start Time:	10am Waterhole (Eastern Creek)
Entry Fee:	Individuals - Non-TA members $70, TA members $65
	Teams - Non-TA members $210, TA members $195
	All competitors receive the Official Race Pack, which includes Friday night Carbo smorgasboard, FREE entry to Saturday night's National Bullride and concert, race singlet and Outback Survival pack.
Entries Close:	24th of March, 2008. Late entries will be accepted with $20 fee.
Open Prizes:	Prize money paid from 1st to 4th position for both males and females.

Zinifex Junior Triathlon

This is an exciting opportunity for kids of all ages (up to 17 years) to compete in their very own triathlon! It may be your first attempt or you may have done many – it doesn’t matter. This is the perfect way for you to get involved in the Dirt & Dust Festival, and have a great time doing it!

You may choose to do the whole event on your own, or you may get a friend or two to help you.

Medallions and prizes up for grabs!

All entrants receive a medallion just for competing and having a go…good on you!

Ages are taken as of 1/4/08.

(Please Note: If you have competed before, the age categories have changed slightly due to sanctioning requirements with Triathlon Australia)

All races will be held on Sunday, 6th April 2008, starting from the town swimming pool, located on Julia Street near the caravan park.

Only $10 per person
